Privacy Policy
Last updated: 8 October 2026
You can play with a nickname. No email address or registration is needed. Your answers and report are handled in your browser.
Who provides the game?
Spot the Threat is provided by ThreatScene Greece MAE. This notice explains the game’s own features. Read ThreatScene’s full Privacy Policy for company contact details, wider data practices and your rights.
Your name, answers and progress
The game uses your nickname, chosen avatar, answers, score and optional elapsed time to run your session. These game details are not sent to a ThreatScene results database, an employer dashboard or an AI service by this version of the game.
If you choose Remember my name and progress, these details are saved in this browser’s local storage so you can resume. They stay until you clear them, clear this site’s browser data or your browser removes them. Without that option, progress is held only in the open page and is lost when it reloads or closes.
Use Start again / clear saved progress in the game to erase saved game details. On a shared device, leave the remember option off. Anyone using the same browser profile may be able to see saved progress.
Your personalised PDF
Your browser adds your nickname, avatar and score to the guide. We do not upload those details to create it. A downloaded copy remains on your device until you delete it. Anyone you share it with can see the details on its cover.
Inviting a teammate
The email field fills in an invitation in your email app. The game does not send it automatically or save the teammate’s address in its game storage. You decide whether to send it. Your email provider processes the invitation under its own privacy rules.
Social sharing opens the service you choose. You may include your score in the invitation; your nickname is not automatically included. The game link does not contain your name or score. The game does not track who accepts an individual invitation.
Cookies and hosting
The game code does not add advertising cookies, analytics trackers or social-media tracking pixels. Optional progress saving uses local storage, as explained above.
Hosting services receive technical information, such as your IP address, browser details and requested pages, to deliver and protect the site. These technical requests are separate from your answers and score. Platform-level logging and storage are managed by the hosting services; they are not deleted by the game’s reset button. Contact ThreatScene for questions about hosting records.
External sites and contacting us
Links to ThreatScene services, learning resources and sharing platforms take you to other sites with their own privacy rules. If you contact ThreatScene, its full Privacy Policy applies to the information you provide. Playing does not subscribe you to marketing emails.
Your choices and rights
You can use a nickname, avoid saving progress, clear local game data and choose whether to share your report. Depending on the data held and applicable law, you may also request access, correction, deletion or restrictions, or object to processing. You may raise a concern with the relevant data protection authority.
For privacy questions or requests, use ThreatScene’s contact page and say your request concerns Spot the Threat. The full Privacy Policy explains the company’s legal bases and rights process. We will update this game notice when its data features change.
